Robert Barnes named to Governor's Workforce Council

Robert Barnes, CEcD, President and CEO of the Casper Area Economic Development Alliance (CAEDA), was recently appointed to the Wyoming Workforce Development Council (WWDC) by Governor Dave Freudenthal.  Barnes officially joined the Council on May 1, 2009 and has already begun working on wide range of workforce related issues with WWDC. The mission of the WWDC is help to recruit, develop and grow Wyoming’s workforce, creating a stronger economy and a higher quality of life.   

Workforce Development Funds

The Wyoming Workforce Development Council recently announced $690,434 in training grant opportunities funded by the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, focusing on industry partnership solutions, alternative & renewable energy, and self-sufficiency training. CAEDA is hosting a series of luncheons to encourage local companies to take advantage of these grants and other available training funds: Construction Workforce - June 16; Energy Workforce - June 18; Medical Workforce - July 13; and Creative Arts - July 15. Please contact CAEDA for reservations.

Local Banks Support Casper Incubator

The Casper Area Business Innovation Center, also called the Incubator, has recently received financial support from Wells Fargo, First Interstate Bank, Hilltop National Bank and American National Bank. Thanks these gifts and other grants, $8.7 million of the $10.5 million needed to complete the project has been raised. CAEDA would like to thank each bank for their involvement and support!
